STORY

About

My Story
I’m a native Louisianian living and working in Austin, Texas with my husband, John, and our three daughters.

In my early 20s, I studied yoga, and it led me to India, where I spent a transformative summer solo backpacking from Bangalore to the Himalayas.

It may sound cliché, but that chapter of my life is where I truly found myself. I was lucky to also find the ancient art of block printing, tribal embroidery, and traditional hand loom weaving. I was completely captivated.

I returned to the states with a few pieces of Banjara tribal embroidery, which I mounted and framed to display in my home. Over the next few years, I found myself drawn more and more to textiles of all types. I dove into their history and I slowly began collecting pieces from around the world that I found beautiful. In 2024, I launched FOUND. to share their beauty with others.

My travel experiences continue to shape my creative perspective, alongside a deep respect for the people and traditions behind each piece.

My Work
FOUND. started with a single collected textile, a beautiful reminder of a life changing journey.

I’ve always been drawn to objects with history and textiles, especially, hold something rare: the hand of the maker, the passage of time, the story of where they’ve been.

Most of the pieces I find are never meant to be “art,” but they hold a depth and presence that transform a space when they're framed.

My Process

I source antique and vintage textiles from around the world, carefully selecting each piece for its composition, color, story and character.

Custom canvases and frames are designed and then I carefully mount each textile using conservation-minded techniques. Rather than mount with staples and glue, I hand sew each piece to honor the artisan that made it and so that each piece is properly preserved for generations to come.

I present two collections each year, Spring and Fall, at the Marburger Farm Antique Show in Round Top, Texas. I also accept a limited number of commissions, working with designers and clients to create pieces tailored to a specific space. I source pieces or I am happy to use pieces that clients have collected themselves. Every piece is created with intention, taking into consideration scale, palette, and story, so that the final work is personal and lasting.

FOUND. is, at its core, a study of material, memory, and place.
